I believe that what you focus on is what you get.
What are you focusing on?
Those wishing to gain a greater understanding of themselves need look no further than Jenny. Her focus and understanding in helping me achieve understanding of myself and why I do certain things certain ways was truly impressive. Jenny's ability to ask the right question which in turn gave me my own answer still amazes me. Nothing in the sessions was about her experience it was all about me an what decisions I had made in life and how those decisions are based on my values. The professionalism, commitment and trustworthiness goes way beyond what I have experienced in other professions.

Often, we need to stop and clarify where we are at, and the best path moving forward.
I was struggling with this until a friend suggested I talk with Jenny
Jenny asked strategic questions, then spent a lot of time listening.
Most valuable to me was her help in enabling me to clearly identify my values - what was important to me, prioritising these, then helping me to align these with my day to day life and decision making.
Often, I found it very challenging - in a good way! She made me accountable for the practical things I said I would do between sessions.
Jenny was very professional, has high integrity, and her expertise enabled me to come up with my own answers, and the courage to act and make changes.

Working with Jenny has been my first experience of personal coaching and I was a little unsure of what the process might look like and what benefits might be gained from it.
I have never been one that enjoys being told what to do and was anxious that the concept might not suit my personality. The reality was quite removed from this as Jenny quickly worked with me to understand what motivated my behaviour to create a bespoke coaching plan which was quite different from a one size fits all program I had been expecting.
When I began to work with Jenny I was at a stage where my professional career had reached a plateau and I was asking myself some serious questions as to which path I should choose to take in the future and my self confidence levels were less than optimal.
A number of exercises explored my values set and dealt with goals and priorities in life in an orderly and defined way that is almost impossible to do without some third party assistance.

In a nutshell, the most useful and insightful tool for me, was the core values work we did together. It really helped me to not only understand myself and my behaviour on a whole new level, but also the same in others and how differing sets of values can cause conflict. It really explained alot about me to me. Some things I had never understood or found frustrating in the past suddenly became clear and made sense.
Jenny was approachable and personable , incredibly enthusiastic and clearly passionate about what she does.
The process provided me with some useful tools/and techniques.
I guess you could say "I get me" better than I ever did before.

"With Jenny's professional and educational guidance, she helped me to discover my goals, aims and dreams in a realistic manner and time frame in accordance with my values. She has many tools and resources on hand to assist in discovering where your priorities lie. A year on and I have achieved all my goals successfully. This has been attributed to Jenny helping me to create a step by step path to follow with goals and time frames while keeping a balanced life style. I would highly recommend Jenny's expertise coaching to anyone that is wanting direction in their life, looking to commence a new business or get the life and passion back into their existing business."

What Jenny proposed really interested me, but I still went in slightly ‘unbelieving’.
For three hours I got the interrogation of a life time! (It wasn’t as bad as it sounds ;) ) Jenny sat opposite me and got probing. She wanted to know what made me tick, what words jumped out when she spoke, how I think, what I like to do, how I see myself, how I think others see me, what gets me passionate. She wanted stories of times I felt happy, frustrated or unsure.
Admittedly, this WAS an exhausting process but one I really needed and one I am very grateful for!
NOW, to share my findings.

I met Jenny at a conference in Christchurch last year however I wasn't prompted to get in touch until I saw a friend recommend her services on Facebook. Seemingly, she had undertaken a core values exercise and the value she had seen from that had prompted her to share her experience. As I read about her values it struck me that I didn't have any idea why I was doing things and in fact, felt a little bit unsure about which direction I wanted to head in next, it was the start of a new year and as a serial goal/future planner I was in a bit of a flat spot. So i contacted Jenny .
At times during our session, I struggled but Jenny knew how to get the answers out of me, she very patient with me
The exercise for me has been extremely valuable, I have a much better understanding why I do things, when things have gone wrong or not as I had hoped, it can be directly related back to my core values being broken. For the future, I can now use this knowledge to help me make better informed decisions. I have always been a gut feeling type of person and now I know that the gut feeling is actually these core values directing me.
I recently caught up with Jenny and as I was describing all the things happening in our life right now I realized that the values session had contributed much more than I thought. I would highly recommend Jenny's very affordable services to anyone willing to do that hard yards and discover something new about themselves. I am excited to see where my values will take me next!

To gain the most from coaching it is essential that a strong trust relationship develops.
Jenny is highly professional in her approach and I quickly felt able to take her into my confidence.
Coaching helped give me clarity as to what direction I wanted to take in terms of professional development and career choice. I found I could focus on things that were important and develop a road map with confidence that goals could be achieved.
The aspect of accountability is one that I was expecting from a coaching exercise and this was delivered in an appropriate way. Setting up disciplines and routine was something I have always struggled with and settling into certain good habits has been of great benefit to me.
Coaching gave me the ability to say yes to new challenges and dispel self-doubt.
The results of working with Jenny have been very rewarding for me as I have taken on new roles and responsibilities and although I will always harbour some self-doubt as its part of my makeup I can now manage this in a very positive way.
Jenny is always well prepared and is not afraid to ask you hard questions to ensure that the outcomes that you want are achievable.
You might find the early coaching sessions quite revealing and the design of the roadmap different to your initial expectations.
We all have people in our lives that we share things with. I now see that a Professional Coach can play a very important role in being highly objective and sufficiently removed from other relationships to draw out goals and ambitions and then set tasks with accountability to help achieve these goals. A role that others’ in our lives would be less suitable for.
Jenny has a very high level of professional integrity and will quickly establish whether coaching will add value to you. I was quite surprised as to its benefits and the quite rapid transformation that my life took after a course of Professional Coaching with Jenny.
If you are looking to progress your career or try to put some order in your life I would highly recommend Jenny as a Professional Coach.
Jenny will take the time to understand what you want to achieve and them work closely with you to make this happen.

Values are usually quite a private thing but in order for you to understand how knowing these could benefit you, your decisions and your relationships, I’m going to be transparent.
Here were my 6 identified values, in order of importance.
To give you some context to these words:
Growth - I love learning, up-skilling, absorbing information to strive to be the best version of myself. This also means I’m not very good at staying still, meaning I do lot’s of different things - but also it appears mad to others, this is what I love and how I thrive. Growth and continued education also gives me a feeling of freedom over my life and a sense of accomplishment.
Freedom - This word covers many areas. Freedom of speech and choice. Freedom to explore my ideas. Freedom to take risks. Freedom to be confident and unique, The desire for monetary freedom so I have the time and opportunity to grow and accomplish all the things on my long (long) list.
Accomplishment - I love to achieve my goals. Don’t we all? What I lack in singular focus and specialisation, I make up for in a wide array of interests, passions and skills AND the desire to achieve each one of them. What I have also come to learn is - ‘fail’ quickly. Don’t waste time on things you can’t accomplish - BUT don’t give up on them. Bank them for when you have the time, money or people to collaborate, support and achieve with. In fact I don’t at all like the term fail more like, know when to stop pursuing and know when to revisit.
Connection - I never thought, before Farming Mums NZ, that this was a necessity of mine. It turns out, connection is a huge huge part of my life. I don’t like being disconnected, I like sharing my time, I like chatting, I love supporting and helping others. This is often a core value in all my ideas. Connection is why I have a blog and why I do what I do.
Support - FMNZ again, has really highlighted this for me. I love being in a position to be able to help, support and communicate with people in their time of need. The fact people trust me daily with such personal information is really special and I will never turn down a request for help - I just can’t. If not me then who? I guess I can also flip this around also - having people who support my ideas and thoughts is also important to me.
Collaboration - One thing I sometimes get stuck on when it comes to business concepts and goals is collaboration. Looking back, there is a clear link between successful endeavors and having other people along for the ride. (FMNZ, Half-marathon, Book etc). On the flipside, the ideas that are still sitting in limbo are purely there as I haven’t found the right person or company to collaborate with!
Another way to look at all of this is, say you have a business idea, a job, a decision to make, a relationship that isn’t quite feeling right, you are unsatisfied or unhappy. What values are missing from that situation? Am I feeling supported? Do I have freedom over choices or hours or my role? Do I feel like I am accomplishing something or am I on the rats wheel of life? Can I change this? How?
